MeeGenius! is a reading application for the iPhone, iPad, iTouch, GoogleTV, Android devices and the web.  Launched in April 2010 by Wandy Yeap Hoh and David Park, MeeGenius! digitizes children’s stories, classic and new, and adds features such as word highlighting and audio playback for easy read-along.  Also available on certain platforms are text and audio personalization tools, which further engage young readers.

Parents Yeap Hoh and Park met in 2005 and shared a dream to build a business by and for families that would educate and stimulate little imaginations.  Entertaining and interactive, Yeap Hoh and Park created MeeGenius! for a new generation of readers – children and parents who love reading, and who are also tech-savvy and appreciate the capabilities and enhanced features of digital devices such as iPhones.

MeeGenius! adds a whole new dimension to story time, making books fun and easy to read along with while also promoting reading comprehension skills.  MeeGenius! is made for the modern family on-the-go – with all books stored in one place whether at home, in the car, or on vacation.

After downloading the free iPhone/iPad application, users have access to 12 introductory books for free, with additional books available as in-app purchases for $1.99 each.  MeeGenius! offers a collection of childhood favorites, such as “The Three Little Pigs,” “The Boy Who Cried Wolf” and “Jack and the Beanstalk,” with new titles added on an ongoing basis.  Visitors to www.MeeGenius.com also have access to 27 children’s titles to read online. MeeGenius! Version 2.0, which launched in August 2010, adds more books to the original collection and elevates it from an app to a “bookstore,” making it easier to purchase and read new stories without leaving the app.

MeeGenius! also offers aspiring children’s book authors a viable alternative to traditional book publishing.  By producing digital books with MeeGenius!, authors and illustrators can have their work edited, brought to life and available for sale through MeeGenius! and iTunes in days instead of months.
